New Member from Palm Harbor FL

    Hello-

Long time lurker, new member from Palm Harbor FL.

I dont know if I am really Scottish, I was adopted. So several years ago I did a genetic test on ancestory.com or something, and my closest genetic relative was in Edinburgh. So that was good enough for me.

The next town south of us is Dunedin FL, a very Scottish influenced town. Sister town to Edinburgh. Anyway, its not common to walk around Dunedin any given weekend day, and see someone wearing a kilt.

So between the two of those things, I guess thats where it started. I designed and registered my own tartan (see my avatar), with the sett based on birthdays and anniversaries.

I use to wear a kilt only to weddings, but have recently gotten more bold and started to wear it out on the weekends. In Florida, its SO much more comfortable than even shorts.

I have four kilts right now...

    A Black Stewart from SWK
    A PV Anderson (from ebay)
and an acrylic Spirit of Scotland (from ebay)
... and always looking for my next.

I hope to get my tartan woven and made into a kilt in the next couple of years, but i have been dieting and exercising, and thusly loosing weight.

The heat and humidity of Mississippi is not trapped within the pleats (as I thought it would when I began wearing kilts). I tossed all my shorts and only wear long slacks or kilts. Glad to here of the health improvements (as I call weight loss).
