You bring up a good point that I'm only now coming to appreciate. I usually wear "tactical" trousers because I fill the pockets with all sorts of things, including items I sha'n't mention for fear of breaching rule 11.

How to fit all these "essentials" into a sporran? Ideally I'd like a sporran that is on the large size of normal, and which has a divider or two inside it for organization and separating things into different places.

The Survival Sporran might be a good step in that direction. Does it have multiple internal compartments? How does it open/close - does it have some sort of fastener so items wouldn't fall out by themselves if one were in an unusual position?

    Thanks for your helpful comments.

Yes there is a divider inside the top zipper for all my "essentials"

And to keep the "survival" look, i made a tactical sporran "chain" from paracord.

Thanks for the detailed pix, and congrats on creating the paracord belt.

Between paracord and duct tape, there's nary a problem in the world that can't be solved!

The sporran does look very "tactical" though, if you get my meaning. But I'll probably get one; I've also been trying to think of appropriate not large sized over the shoulder type bags to give me more space for all the stuff I burden myself with each morning.

You learn overtime that you cut "essentials" to a minimum when wearing the kilt. Hosetops can be a handy storage area and should there be a real need to carry the "heavy stuff" then a heavy cotton fishing vest with loads of assorted pockets can be very handy and looks not too out of place in casual situations when worn with the kilt.

That's a great idea about the fishing vest, actually. I've one which I've never managed to completely fill all its very many pockets before; might be just the thing, even on warmer days.

    Thank you.
