    Worlds Pipe Band Championship

Should anyone be interested tomorrow Saturday Aug. 17th 2019 the BBC will be live streaming the Worlds Bagpipe Band Championship. I suspect at this site
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07khv48 Not only can you listen to the worlds best bands, but you can see different forms of highland dress on display.
Being on this side of the big puddle if you watch the livestream bring the cursor back to the beginning and you can watch from the start of the day's events.

They also stream via https://livestream.com/accounts/3661274/theworlds2019. And great part about catching them on livestream is that the streams are also archived, so if you don't want to get up at 5 o'clock to watch them - or your wife yells at you to turn that rachet down, don't you know what time it is - then you can watch them later.

Thanks for the links! Just a couple days ago it was still up in the air whether Livestream was going to stream Friday's competition, like they did last year.

BTW here's the thread I started on this year's Worlds a few days ago

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...71#post1377371

As best I can figure the competition starts at 2:45am PST. I will be up, with café mocha in hand. Sadly I have to leave for work around 6:30am so I won't be around for the denouement.

I always take note of the dress of the G1 bands.

I just watched three of the Friday bands. All wore dark hose, dark waistcoats, white long-sleeved shirts, and black Glengarries. (One of these days a G1 band will dare to wear Balmorals. No, that's just crazy talk.)

I note that SLOT and Glasgow Police marched in on the hammering pentatonic hornpipes that have been almost mandatory over the last 20 years. Police Service Northern Ireland played one in A Major.
