    Tape Loops at the Waistband

    Hello all,
Can anyone tell me what is the intended use for the two loops that are stitched to the waist band and tucked inside when wearing the kilt?
I've imagined they are for hanging the kilt, but doing so would surely cause the fabric to distort over time, would it not?
I've had very good results from folding my kilt in two at the waist and hanging it from a pair of hangers.
    Thanks very much.

Your assessment of the potential damage the loops can cause is accurate.

They are for temporarily hanging the kilt whilst changing or visiting the loo, not for long-term storage. They just allow you to take advantage of clothes hooks where people would hang other garments temporarily. I do find them convenient for that purpose, but sometimes it is a pain to get them tucked in neatly and stay put.

My first kilt had them. I carefully cut them off.

To me they're in the same category as belt loops and the 3rd buckle: unnecessary do-dads that I forego when ordering kilts.

    Thanks very much.
