Although much derided on here, I quite like my tartan flashes (I have them to match 2 of my kilts).

I also have plain coloured flashes in green and black and was thinking of knocking up a pair in tweed to match one of my jackets.

I wear dark green garter ties regardless of my hose. If I were to get another set they would probably be claret or gold most likely. I prefer deep, rich colours for the most part, so for me (aside from gold) it makes sense.

Huh...not an item I've given much thought in years.

I have a pair of garter ties that came with some shooting socks. They are a woodsy green with bright red fringe. These go with everything and are what I generally wear. I received a pair in red with my House of Cheviot tartan red hose, and will wear those when I can get a good contrast my hose (with green, tan, or other non-red hose). I really like the contrasting look.

I do have a pair of tartan flashes on elastic that came with an old kilt, which I don't often use.

My one and only pair of flashes, of fairly dark blue, have done me well for the last 30 odd years.

I’ve a few colours. Despite that, almost always go for the dark blue. Special occasions I use the mustard or blue full garter tie

But if I were ever to choose another colour for some reason, I think I'd go with a gold, yellow, or mustard.
I use gold garter ties exclusively, but if I were to branch out I'd go red
