Gostwear.com out of Montreal(I think) makes a heavyweight wool hunting trousers with a tartaney check pattern. I believe it’s like 28oz (!!) wool or something like that, and there might be a matching jacket. There are also overalls as well. 9C334FC3-0399-44B1-9BC1-3E74680B5C7C.jpg

^^^ only $125 for the 28oz tartan and $105 for 24oz solid colours. They have jackets and vests to match the solid colours too. Check them out.

Not affiliated to them or anything ofc.

Thank you for the leads. These were a couple weird what-if thoughts rattling in my head.

Jock, I agree that the right tartan would make fantastic camouflage, a point that has been noted in other threads. Heck, even Loud McLeod is more effective camouflage than the previous US Army pattern. UCP: UN-Camouflaged Pattern is what that is!
My personal favorite right now is a family tartan, Ross Hunting Weathered. https://www.usakilts.com/gallery/13-...ered-7647/view

I have a couple pairs of these for work. Sadly the manufacturer doesn't produce a jacket in the same weight, just the trousers and overalls. They do have matching jackets for their lighter 21oz and 24oz blended wool fabrics, but from my experience the 28oz wool seems to be of higher quality.
