leather strap with dress sporran

Personally, I never wear a chain but have considered it for dressier events. That aside, I've always worn a strap even to weddings and funerals. No one knows the difference and I much prefer the strap to a chain anyway.

Shaun,

Its a well made chain, I'm just so used to either having my sporran on the belt holding up my plaid, or on a separate leather belt, the chain is just rather hard to get used to. Ive used it once, and the jacket I was wearing only had one breast pocket, so I ended up with a bit more in my sporran than normal. The chain did not support the weight of the sporran well enough I felt.

I don't bother with the dog-lead chains - but I do alternate between plain black leather and one I modified with chainmail (not as bad as it sounds and currently making up anther one with a different chain mail pattern).

I also have plaited tan leather strap I wear with my other day sporran.

Here is a in use photo of the long link chain. Now its late in the evening last night, ive had a couple, few drinks, and my sporran has started its decent.......

If I wear a sporran, like say a MOD cantle type, with 1 inch leather straps, I dont get that decent into madness........

Actually thinking about the possibility of sending my MOD off to be silver plated, because of this sporran creep!

That's really nice. I quite like it. It's elegant but not flashy.
