What brooches do you prefer with a great kilt/fly plaid

The title says it all, I'm curious what brooch (Or other form of fastening) you all prefer to wear with either a great kilt or just a fly plaid. For my feileadh mor (WIP at the moment), I've made a penannular brooch from an old jailer's ring (Dremeled to make the gap), and an antler spire for the pin. What are your preferences?

I think that you'll find that most people wear neither garment.

You may receive more responses for this thread were it in the Kilt fashion Section - Historical Kilt Wear.

    Just a thought.

The two threads have been merged with the preference of the OP.

Though we're in the "historical" section, as best I can see these questions don't relate to historical kiltwearing, but rather to contemporary preferences.

I say this because AFAIK it's not historical to wear any sort of brooch with the philamore, they being fixed with ribbon. (By the time plaid brooches became popular the philamore was already extinct.)

And fly plaids are a quite recent invention.

That aside, I have a nice early 20th century German silver Plaid Brooch that I wear with a plaid (in the rare times I do).

To be clear, I don't wear a plaid broach and have never worn a fly-plaid, but my family wore them and these are the four I still have from them:

The top left is an heraldic piece, from my great-grandfather and now often worn by my wife; the top right is one worn by a late family member and still worn by my wife and sometimes others in the family; the bottom left I inherited from a family piper (with his silver and ivory Henderson pipes ); and the bottom right is a piece of plated silver and glass sometimes worn by my father as a bit of OTT glitter (no fault him, we all do that sometimes, I'm sure).

I only wear a great kilt with historic dress, not modern, so no brooch for me. Also Im only doing 18th century, so no brooch, they had fallen out of fashion long before.

I have an extra strip of cloth on my jackets and waistcoats that allows me to tie the upper portion of the great kilt to the garment.

My new plaid, I am going to get a bit fancier with things, perhaps even making a rosette like this:
