    Thank you!

Many thanks to all with your warm welcoming, it is greatly appreciated! I stay rather busy, but do pop in from time to time to see what is new. I do hope everyone enjoys a wonderful (and warm) holiday season!

    Regards,
    Jeffrey

Welcome from eastern WA. I am curious what is "Lord John Murray's (42 Foot) entire ledger book (1758-67)"? I expect I reveal my ignorance of history by asking that. I have no military experience either. But I am a Murray, albeit an Irish one, so it caught my attention. Let us know when the images you speak of are available to see.

It's a military account book showing his expenditures being the Colonel of the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment. It includes those charges, but also some rather interesting purchases of lottery tickets, and payments for an apartment in London....... ;-)
