The men's stone heavier than normal (62 I believe) and you could throw it any way you liked.

    Very nice action shots

I'm impressed with the stone throw action shots. I can guess at some of the tricks you employed to catch those shots, but it's still impressive to see the results. Very nicely executed.
Trying to look good on a budget.

How much does the large stone weigh the women are carrying? Most impressive for anyone.

    Thanks
In the normal games I shoot getting these can be hard or at least more dangerous (unless I use my big lens) as rocks, logs and weights can be coming in from every direction however these were a lot easier than normal. I had a 150-600 lens (which I didn't think I'd need and didn't)and a 15-70. I wasn't sure which to use on this event because I wasn't sure how far they would throw until the first few warmups and luckily they chose the biggest rock so standing in front with the little lens was the best as the rock was only traveling so far and I just got 5 feet back of where the best warmup went and only had to jump a couple of rollers.
I've shot about 15 games and I have learned how to keep the left eye open to look for other incoming and to get a better idea of how close the pictured implement will come.
