    Advice

I have a gray Argyll Tweed Jacket and waistcoat, and will be attending company Christmas party next month.
I have two kilts, Black Watch, and Black Stewart.
My plan is a white dress shirt and tie. With the greens in the Black watch, could I wear another color hose besides black?
Gray to go with the jacket?
    Or,
With the Black Stewart kilt, black, white, or gray hose?

Ya'll have helped guide me thus far......

The grey Argyll is a great piece I wear mine often or rather did, these days I tend to wear my brown vintage set more than anything. Having said that either kilt will work with the jacket and waistcoat you have. Instead of simply wearing black or grey hose, personally I would only wear black to a funeral these days, perhaps branching out to another colour like claret or perhaps even mustard would work. Recently I purchased a pair of purple hose from House of Cheviot and they have fast become a favourite. I was wearing my Black Watch today with oatmeal coloured hand knit hose, there are so many colours that work with the two tartans you have.

You could wear any colour hose that you wish, other than perhaps white. McMurdo’s excellent colour choices are but a few that can be worn to advantage.

Assuming that you currently own black, white, and gray hose, and no other colors, gray hose would likely look the nicest, black next. Coordinating your kilt hose with your jacket and/or waistcoat is always a good option.

As Jock Scot said, there are lots of options. If you understand color theory, we can go into great depth. If not, we can give a couple solid suggestions for options.

I love color theory, here’s a wheel to fool around with.

I prefer the first one on this site: https://www.sensationalcolor.com/col...y/color-wheel/
It's easy to explain the key concepts and terminology from it.

while I prefer the interactiveness of the wheel through the site I posted, I’m enjoying equally the topics of phychology of color from the site you’ve posted, thank you, most interesting.

I wore the Black Watch again today and as I was thinking about this thread wore hand knit claret hose, I think it demonstrates that claret hose work very well with the Black Watch tartan.
