Kilted Wedding on Crete
This past summer I got married in the beautiful city of Chania on the island of Crete where my wife is from. Peter MacDonald did an incredible job in researching and recreating the Fraser of Struy tartan made by Robin at Andrew Elliot Ltd. Paul Henry made the kilt for myself and my brothers and fatherr. I was lucky enough to find three MOD brass cantles and had the sporrans made by the folks at Margaret Morrison. Their tailor, Lee, there also made my jacket and waistcoat in the beaters grey tweed from Locharron. I wanted to thank Peter MacDonald for his amazing work on this and he was always my inspiration for the choice of jacket style and colour as well as hose etc. It was so helpful for me to take my time and read this forum in-depth to know exactly how I wanted the finished results to look. The Cretans were very impressed with the kilts and we had several men and women dressed in traditional Cretan clothing with the knee boots (stivania). You can see my brother and myself dancing syrto with one of them in the final photo.
Enjoy!

I love the tweed jacket. Mind if I ask where you got it and what tweed color?
