    Yet another tartan ID

This has me stumped, the kilt looks fairly high quality (pleats prob machine sewn on reverse).

I can't imagine whatever it has to do with the Revolutionary War.

Leatherneck/ U.S. Marine Corps (unofficial). The colors look similar to some 16oz. fabric that I had that was woven by Robert Nobles.

    Ebay kilts

Look like some movie company is dumping some of their costumes. The quality does look good. Some with basting still in place. Let the fun begin...

This particular seller states that he bought the estate of a lawyer who collected Revolutionary War items and other militaria. So I guess they're just selling everything off as Revolutionary War items, whether they are are not. As I'm married to someone who does estate sales (both buying and selling/organising), I have to say this is shoddy behaviour on the part of the seller. But perhaps that explains why they're selling it off on fleabay instead of a more dignified local sale/auction.

And the seller won't accept questions via eBay. Shoddy indeed.

The Leatherneck Tartan was designed in 1986 - so - just a few years after the Revolutionary war.
