    Tartan ID help?

    Hello everybody,

I saw this kilted skirt for sale at Gaelsong and was wondering if it is a legitimate tartan or just a showy/fashion tartan. It's quite a lovely pattern, I've attached an image below:

I was wondering if anybody knows what the name of this one is. Any help is appreciated!

I believe that this is the asymmetrical version of Buchanan.

On the Scottish Register of Tartan this is listed as No. 414

I agree - it is a Buchanan tartan. Looks to be in one of the recent trend toward weathered/reprodution/autumn colors that are popular.
I sort of like the 'tweedy' fabric.

    Yes, agreed on all counts.

Here, Marton Mills offers a tweed they call "Autumn" which appears to inspired by Weathered Buchanan

Odd that they didn't just do Buchanan.

In the same range they do Weathered Hunting Stewart which appears to be proper.
