    Hi y'all from the Ozarks

Hi y'all! I'm Stephanie Osborne from the Ozark mountains in Arkansas. I'm an American mutt with Scottish, Native American and German ancestry but Scotland's in my heart. If I could visit one place in Earth, that would be it. My paternal grandma was a Campbell. (My apologies to any MacDonald's). I recently found out my maternal Grandpa's ancestors, Owen, was from Wales. I have tartan all through my house, even a black watch travel case table. I have always wanted a kilt and stumbled on your forum. I've already read many pages and look forward to many more.

    Hi Stephanie,

I'm a Scotsman living in the English midlands. Being in virtual lockdown just now, it would be marvellous to be able to take a trip to Scotland. One of these days, when life returns to normal...

Welcome Stephanie From the gateway to the highlands of New York State !!!!

This site is quite unlike any other - the rabble [as Fr. Bill calls us] is very welcoming and always ready to help wherever we can. I've been to Scotland twice the last time I was looking for a particular street and was having trouble finding it and approached to of Glasgow's finest to ask for help. The sergeant tells me "go to the top of the street and left turn." I looked at him and told him the street is flat there is no top or bottom. The other cop asked me where I was from and when I told him New York he says "I'll handle this" and in the best Brooklyn accent I've ever heard points up the street and says " Go tree blocks up to da red light, toin left and it two blocks up and ya can't miss it." Now that makes sense I said, he looked at the sergeant and said "sometimes we have to talk to people in their native tongue." I never forgot that line and used throughout my police career.

Welcome again Stephanie and I hope you enjoy the stay!!!!!
