    Mink sporran

I just viewed an awesome sporran by a prominent member who proudly showed off his "arctic fox". An absolute gem. This posting is by no means intended to steal his thunder but to inspire others to be creative and to step out and show their work.

This mink I purchased for $2 from a community recycling shop in Perth, Western Australia. It's original intent was a womans shawl, I guess from the 1960's as I remember my mother having one. I reverse engeneered, glued and stitched this to a rather drab vintage sporran that I purchased and really had no idea what to do with. This is what I made. The tartan in the background is a Hume or Holmes:

This is my next project. A wonderful vintage fox:

Nice job, but the mink looks rather surprised to have been turned into a sporran!
