Interesting hose color
In today's mail, I received a pair of House of Cheviot Rannoch hose that I'd ordered from The Scottish Trading Company a few weeks ago. The Rannoch range is very similar to the popular Lewis hose, with a few more "earthy" options. The color I ordered was "Dark Loden."* I wasn't sure exactly what that would be, as they looked to be olive/brown from the small photo online, but I wasn't too concerned as I felt that they'd be workable.
EDIT:
* I noticed this morning that, while the sticker on the back had been partially removed, the color appears to be "Bracken" rather than "Dark Loden." Maybe the retailer didn't have Dark Loden and substituted Bracken instead, figuring I wouldn't notice the difference. Whatever the reason, I'm glad I got the Bracken rather than Dark Loden. I only mention this so that, just in case anyone is planning on obtaining a pair from another source, Bracken is the color you're after.
I was pleasantly surprised when I inspected them in the light of day. They're made from a variegated yarn that's primarily dark olive, with other earthy colors mixed in. Very pleased with the color!
Not a bad color to have in your arsenal!
Cheers,
SM

I really do like them. Had I not my wonderful bison hose, I'd cop for them, but one can only own so many hose.

I had to chuckle at that, Bill. I guess I'm a hose-horse.

Great colour! I too have a couple of the Rannoch range; they give a slightly 'different' look, which I like. Some of the Jack Pyke shooting range socks are also a great alternative.
