    On the Riviera

Working from home, like so many others these days, so, .....while not really working I watched an old movie today; On the Riviera starring Danny Kaye in 1951. Kind of fun, classic two characters that look alike both played by Danny Kaye. Five minutes in, one of the look-a likes, (an entertainer,) dresses up to do a “Scottish” routine, and of course ........the pleats are in front. They never mention it, so it’s hard to tell if it was meant as a joke or just ignorance. All in all classic Danny Kaye
    Cheers,

DK seems to have been on good terms with Harry Lauder and stayed with him at his home, Lauder Ha’, so it seems unlikely that DK would have made a mistake with the pleats.

All I can find on the subject is on IMDb.com
    Character error

“When Danny Kaye changes costumes in his cabaret act, he puts on a Scottish kilt, but he puts it on backwards. Scottish kilts are always worn with the pleats in the back; Danny's are in the front.”
