    Kilt made from my fabric?

Looking for advice on getting a kilt made from fabric I have on hand. It is 16oz wool tartan fabric.

Based on reputation, I looked into USA Kilts first, but they are not interested in making a kilt from fabric unless they source it.

I'm in the United States and would like to sick with a domestic kilt maker.

The only one I could find in the US is J Higgins, but I can't find anyone saying anything about their custom kilts from customer supplied material.

    Any advice or thoughts?

    Lightbulb Just a thought

Barb is a good way to go but she probably has a waiting list. If you want another option, I have a Master Kilt Maker in my neighborhood. Her name is Cathy McWilliams and you can reach her at the following -: (253) 445-7988, or e-mail her at fifeandthistle@flash.net. We are in the Pacific Northwest (Puyallup, south of Seattle). Anyway, it is an addition resource that is available to you.

    Just an FYI -

The term for making a garment from customer provided fabric is "Cut, Make, and Trim", or CMT for short.

Thanks for the votes, guys! Actually, my queue is pretty short ATM - I've made a really big dent in it this spring as a result of being on lockdown.

And I've made many, many kilts with Dalgliesh tartan, and, if it's 16 oz, it will be twill weave and have a kilting selvedge.
