Today I started putting the rows together with the sashing strips. I'm liking the look, but I'm fighting with some alignment issues. I get some stretching of the top layer of fabric as it passes under the presser foot of my machine, especially when the seams of my tartan squares pass through. Even with my pieces pinned together, it causes the top layer to end up longer than the bottom layer so that they don't start and end at the same length. Still part of the learning curve! I'm going to have to take some of this apart and redo it so my tartan squares line up better, as I continue to refine my technique and adjustments to the machine. Hey, I'm getting really good at using the seam-ripper though, LOL.
