Hello from Colorado USA!
Hi! I am a 38 yr old stay at home mom.. I homeschool my kids and my hobbies/life skills include food preservation and multi-crafting! I enjoy crochet/knitting, canning, dog rehabilitation and seamstress work. I basically have a small craft room in my house I joined this group to have help as i build 2 xkilts and a hostess skirt for myself and my 2 brothers, the younger one is getting married at the end of Sept I know after making them i will want to make more! Thank you for the approval and I look forward to the experience and skill that I am sure to encounter here!! I am not having any more children and as mine grow older I am developing new skill sets and deciding what I want to do as they leave the nest, I LOVE making clothing.. I LOVE fixing clothing and I LOVE crafting.. I don't have to have a job and I am blessed to be able to make my own path. We have a strong Irish and Scottish heritage in my family, I am honored to be here <3

Welcome from Michigan!
Homeschooling can be a wonderful way to go, provided you have a proactive and competent teacher. Which, thankfully, my mom was, and my education has served me well.

Thank you!
I started with my 12yr old 4 years ago and have decided that my 4yr old will homeschool from the start, we love it! They are learning so much more and I encourage life skills like cooking, food preservation and sewing/crafting. Both of my girls will also know how to change a tire! I am still learning how to navigate the site here so I will try and reply and be social as I get to understand more Thank you for the reply!

I was able to start college several years early because of it, and also was able to skip quite a few of the entry level classes by demonstrating knowledge of the subjects. If they had actually tested me for the higher level classes, I could have easily skipped more (some of them were...how do I say this nicely...less challenging than I would have liked), but it was hard enough even convincing the admissions department that I could be there at all, much less skip ahead any further. But then again I also had rather strange hobbies as a youngster. At one point my mom had to limit how many pages of my math books I could do per day for fear of blowing through the curriculum faster than she had books for.
So, like I said, it worked out quite well for me, and I think it's a great idea for anyone who is motivated enough to be able to pull it off. It's certainly not an easy job!
