    Campbell Ancient

Anyone have pics of a kilt made from Campbell Ancient from MM or HoE? Other examples that show their ancient blues and greens would work great too!

    TIA!

I'm sure you've thought this already, but I would suggest getting swatches.

Photographs and monitors distort colours so much that you can't meaningfully compare different mills.

Also if you order a swatch from HOE I would recommend that you also get a swatch of Campbell/Black Watch in the HOE Muted Range. It's uniquely beautiful.

Yeah, I have swatches on order but I’m not sure if they will get here before I need to place my order. I’m trying to take advantage of a sale, which is the only way I’m able to afford my kilt at the moment 🙃

Sometimes pictures of the completed product can give you a better idea of things than the swatch pictures you can see online. Still hoping to get my swatches but thought I’d just ask as a back up 🙂

Thanks for the black watch tip!

When in doubt, House of Edgar makes excellent tartan.

I've had my Fraser Gathering Hunting kilt 15 years now and the pleats are still crisp, though I do mostly wear it for occasions.

I believe the lighter green in the kilt is a good example of their Ancient Green, and matches the Ancient Green House of Cheviot flashes well (premium wool flashes from USA Kilts).
