    Smile

If and when the COVID crisis passes, there are two really good Highland Games in Pennsylvania, usually held in September.

The Ligonier Highland Games are set for September 18, 2021 and the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem is set for September 24-26, 2021.

If you go to Ligonier first, and then head to Bethlehem for the Celtic Classic, you will be passing quite close to USA Kilts

    Thanks for the recommendations!

I've heard of them but never been to either. They're both quite do-able.

I see that Ligonier is 3.5 hours from my Mom's house.

Bethlehem is only 2 hours from Gettysburg, an easy day trip if I was staying in Gettysburg for a few days.

I just was reading about the Celtic Classic on a piping site, it gets high praise for being one of the best-run venues. I've put it on my calendar!

    Thanks for the welcome

Thanks so much for the gracious welcome; I can see that the hospitality of this group has not diminished in the slightest.

To OC Richard: I'll make you even more jealous; for about ten years prior to my move to Phoenixville, I had a historic home in McKnightstown PA on the Cashtown Road outside of Gettysburg; it was built in 1823 and had been a tavern for much of its life (look up "Latshaw's Tavern" - there is a video online about the history, if it's still 'up.' During the 1862 "Cashtown Raid" J.E.B.Stuart's men had raided it, taking away much of the whiskey, wine etc. and most importantly, blacksmithing tools and supplies. And yes, we often had 'things that go bump in the night.'

Thanks again, all - be well.
