Notice the ring cap and bush is missing from the bass drone of the piper on the left, and his chanter has several bindings on it. The bindings look like tuning tape, but of course they didn't have tape to tune with in those days.

It is Royal Stewart but the uniform could be one of a number of related RVs. The Comrie Bn (4th Perthshire I think) wore similar. The Tartan Museum used to have one but it disappeared in the 1990s. I've been trying to find out what happened to it because it was never passed on the the STA..
