I stay to natural fibers if I can, and I would likely in the summer forgo the apron and stick to a smithy or a workman style kilt, for heat purposes. For now no ac in the shop and just 1 pedestal fan. Needs a remodel and an electrical update so I can look into a power hammer and grinders.
This is another part of the reason I went with a DNKE Highlander for workshop use - detachable pockets. I don't know about you, but I certainly don't need non-removable pockets with open tops when I'm working around things that throw hot sparks. I try not to weld in it anyway, but it happens. Heck, my welding jackets (which cover my jeans pockets) have button-closed pockets for that reason. And there are just not very many utility kilts which (a) don't melt and (b) don't have fixed pockets.
