Welcome from the suburbs of Chicago from another relative newbie ...

I have an 8-yard wool kilt and just ordered my first 5-yard kilt from USA Kilts. Can't wait!

The 5-yard is a really nice weight for everyday wear. Still looks the part of a formal kilt, but much lighter.

Welcome, enjoy the kilt and company.

From another metro Chicagoan, a second on the additional usefulness of a 5-yard, over 8-yard kilt, for frequent daily-ish wear.

Wow, that’s a lot of great advice. Thanks to everyone!

I have a pair of water proof hiking boots so I’ll give those a go. If going a bit more dressed up I’ll definitely break out the giant umbrella.

Wonderful to see so many people from near and far. 😀

Welcome from the highlands of Southern Oregon. Normally, I only get to Corvallis for the Oregon Veterinary Conference. But this year's conference will be virtual, so no reason to go up there. Yet.

Ah, good to hear from someone else in Oregon!
Maybe next time you are in town we can hit up the pub for some drinks.
