Welcome. An uncle in Savannah worked at the port authority and did commercial real estate; his Ukrainian refugee wife owned a commercial window cleaning service. One of my strongest
memories from their home, in the mid 50s, was the sound of the hooves of the milkman's horse on the brick street. The horse knew the route and would stop without cue at customer's curb.
Then clinking of bottles, horse moving on. Horse didn't know who was on vacation, and would stop. Then the sound of reins on the horse's rump to move on, no clinking of bottles.
Hopefully soon we'll be able to do a kilt night again; join us.

Thanks, look forward to it.
Something about that town, it sticks with you. I know that exact sound you're talking about of the horses hooves on the stone. Reminds me of the St. Paddy's Day Parade, great memories (albeit some sections are missing ).

My grandmother was a Murray with*family lore saying they came from Ireland. I learned about the Murray (of Atholl) Clan a long time ago and was enthralled by kilts (and anything Scottish) and bought a cheap one several years back which I've worn proudly.*In the past year I've dug much deeper into my ancestry and now know my ancestors came to Savannah, GA from Ireland during the Famine. As best I can tell they were only a few generations there (Co. Monaghan) since coming from Aberdeen, Scotland. To celebrate my discoveries, I'm planning on buying a proper*kilt (USAKilts) sometime this summer in time for Highland games/RenFest/St Paddys Parade next season. Thanks for having me!
Welcome from OTP, living with the wife, two kids, three dogs and two cats!! I just got my first Kilt from USAKilts this week and I'm super happy with every bit of it! Glad to have another "local" in the group!

Thanks, I lived ITP thru college and several years after. I miss the city, not the traffic. Just ordered my kilt, and 3 wee ones, last week, this waiting is going to be brutal. Pleasure to meet you!
