I think a trip to the tailor is definitely in order, whenever I can get one. I agree about the sleeves, and think the waist could be taken in a bit as well.

That's a great look one you, also. I've got to get myself a club tie one of these days.

ABF is the tie I am wearing here, KennethSime.

Be cautious of 'club ties', please.

Pssst! A quiet word in your ear, Rex. I think you mean ABF(Army Benevolent Fund) rather than ABS which is a braking system on vehicles!

I second your caution on "Club ties". The ABF tie is a safe bet as it treads on no one's toes.

Definitely the sleeves need shortening, but I'm not sure it's as simple as you might think. On both the Braemar and the gauntlet style sleeve, you can only shorten them a very little bit before the proportion of the sleeve is thrown off. The Braemar has the sewn in "patch" and buttons that are placed a certain distance from the cuff of the sleeve. If you shorten the sleeve too much, the distance between the patch/buttons and the cuff could look off-kilter.

I would speak to a reputable tailor, but I'm guessing the OP will have to have the sleeves removed and shortened from the shoulder. That's what I'm having done with my new jacket with gauntlet sleeves ...
