    Major Success but a Revolting Development

    Well, I took advantage of the lockdown and isolation this last year and a half to do some self-improvement. I am proud to say that since the end of Dec 19, I have lost over 70 pounds! Instead of a "COVID spread", I went the other way.

    Unfortunately, that means my kilts no longer fit! Tightened up all the way, even with new holes punched in the straps, they are too loose!

    I tell people there is a good and bad side to weight loss. The good is that you get to buy a whole new wardrobe. The bad is that you have to buy a whole wardrobe!

    Have you considered moving the straps on your kilt, to get them to fit?
    It’s relatively easy.

    If I had only lost a couple of inches, that would be a good option, but I have lost over six inches in my waist.

    Well, the example Barb T. gives in “The Art of Kiltmaking”, was for someone that had lost ten inches. Just saying… might be worth giving it a try.

    Good on you. A few years back I dropped about 110 lbs. and it was the best thing I ever did. It meant that I went from 5 kilts to none, but it was completely worth it. I feel so much better. I'm just starting to rebuild my kilt collection, and I'm doing by buying much higher quality (and cost) kilts. At least partially to give me the incentive to never put it back on.

    Lockdown part two was hard for me. I back-slid a bit and put on about 20lbs. I've worked most of that back off, but it was a bit of an eye-opener for me. Keeping at a healthy weight is going to be a life-long project for me. Being complacent will lead me right back to where I was.

    And I really don't want to be there again.

    Stay strong and keep at it.
