Would you wear this as a sporran?

I wear tartan kilts but I've never been a stickler for tradition. Of all the sporrans I've owned my favourite is a non-sporran leather pouch. It's roomy, has compartments, and most importantly, no drumming tassels to drive me nuts when I walk.

So I came across this leg-pouch on a shopping portal recently and it looks like it might serve well as a sporran (minus the leg strap). What do you think?

Did you add a picture? I'm not seeing one.

Ack. Haven't used the forum in a while. Attached correctly this time, thanks.

And yes I know it looks like a codpiece.

Reminds me of a codpiece - not exactly the look I'm going for.

First thing I saw was a leather 'athletic cup' with a 'Prince Albert' at the bottom.

I'm pretty much of a similar mind to you- traditional sporrans don't do it for me. I've seen a number of these hip bags I've considered repurposing, however I think this one would be a bit too suggestive for me.

The other issue with almost all of them I have seen, and I don't know if you have considered this, unless it's an unusually smooth zip, you are going to need to use two hands to get in it. With a leg strap holing it in place, probably not an issue, but wearing it as a sporran I think it would be hassle getting in and out of.

Yeah, my first thought was you were trying to adapt a holster. But worn that way, it would look far too much like a codpiece for my taste.
