    Happy Birthday to me!

So today I celebrate the 51st year of my life, and as it happens, our village Harvest Festival was today, so I kilted up. Kilt is 6 yard in Marton Mills Heath tweed. Jumper is an Irish made marino wool, hose are Pennine Fair Isle topped shooting socks, garters are from Paul Henry Kilts (fantastic gent by the way- my next kilt will be with him). Shoes are some generic country brogues from Amazon.

I also got a few kilt related gifts from the family.

Kilt pin is a cool representation of a Malaysian ceremonial dagger (Kris), silver and, I think, some kind of bone, tusk, antler- basically I'm not sure, but has an organic feel to it. Don't believe it's wood. My wife found it at an auction and has been saving it for months.

And my daughter got me a pretty cool belt buckle. Well I think so anyway.

Thank you, and yes they are. Sadly, they seem to be discontinued. I really wanted them in a deep red, but they are not available in my size. I know the green on green is not ideal, but I really like the socks.

Thank you- much appreciated. I have to admit, the ‘young fellow’ thing seems like more and more of a joke each passing year…

All a matter of perspective. From my point of view, you're still a young fellow!
