If I'm wearing a jacket, often nothing goes in my sporran. If not, at most small wallet, keys and phone.

I also tend to wear my sporran a bit higher than many; people often suggest that my sporran is too high but I wear it where it's comfortable for walking around.

I've only worn a sporran once in public. It was part of my "1745 Jacobite" outfit at a recent Highland Games.

    • wallet
    • keys
    • phone
    • flask
    • cigarettes
    • lighter

That sporran fell off of me four times at least. What I learned is - get good hardware for your sporran. It's not the look that matters (much). More important is the chains/clasps/hardware holding it on.

Imagine being 300 miles away from home... with no wallet, no money, no keys, no phone.

Wallet, keys and handkerchief . . . I've never found it uncomfortable.

I have never had an issue wearing a sporran, as for what I carry in my sporran on a regular day it will be a set of keys, a wallet, and a handkerchief. Everything else fits nicely in a jacket pocket. If I am not wearing a jacket I will add my cell phone to the sporran.

No jacket: wallet, card case, snap-top coin purse, small handkerchief. With a jacket, the card case and handkerchief go there. My keys (usually just a single key and a fob) I carry stuffed into the waist of my kilt or, if I'm wearing a belt, between the belt and kilt. Pretty much been the way all my life and never a problem. I don't carry a 'phone but I guess if I did that would go in the sporran, as well.

I am usually in a kilt during the week for walks or hikes.

I carry the following in my fanny pack or my traditional sporran:

    wallet
    keys
    swiss army knife

The phone rides in my daypack or shirt pocket while hiking.

    I have zero comfort issues.
