    Sporran repair question.

I just noticed today that my leather day sporran which I bought in 2000 is missing the top part of the snap thing that holds the storage compartment shut. How easily can I replace it, and is it easy enough for my non-DIY self to do?

It would be helpful if you could post some photos.

    It shouldn't be too hard.

First step is to find the size of the snap, which by the way you'll see called a "press button" too.

After you buy the right size snap you'll have to cut a piece of leather to form the tab, and mount the required side of the snap on it, which probably calls for a special tool (probably available at Tandy Leather).

Then you can attach the tab with stitching, rivet, Chicago screw, or what have you.

A 15 minute job once you have the snap, snap-mounting tool, Chicago screw, hole-punch, etc.
