Ridiculously Lucky! and Kiltmakers in UK?

I tried kilt wearing by just getting one of those cheap "standard length" (ugh) kilts from an Edinburgh tat shop and it fitted me for length!!! I'm now understanding that that is a crazy degree of luck. I am 5'7"
Sure it tries to cut me in half when I sit down but I've moved on to a Pakistani made to measure that is much more comfortable. And still really cheap... Material is clearly cheap and it won't last a long time at the frequency that I wear it = at least weekly, but hey it's comfortable.

My preference is to wear the trad kilt at anatomical waist height.

Can anyone recommend a kiltmaker in UK for when I have saved up enough to get one measured by an expert and can visit the shop?

you could look at Burnett’s and Struth. They have a three to five yard casual kilt in wool. Cheaper, but looks quite good.
