I corresponded with the organizers a bit about this one. When it becomes a two-day event, I may add it to my list. I've about decided that I'm not participating in one-day events unless they're local, as I still have to take a day off to travel without the benefit of the second day of event.

I'm a little disheartened that the Houston games (formerly in September) and the Kerr County Celtic Festival (rechristened the Stonehenge Celtic Festival and formerly in October) have moved to April, and are both one-day events. I liked having a March–May events and September–November events. As it stands now, most of the events are packed into April. As much as I enjoy these events, back-to-back weekends doesn't appeal.

Hope y'all have fun! Looks like an nice setting for the event.

    Cheers,

I understand the one day events that are over a 3 hour drive are hard to justify now days.

This one is only 6 miles from my house, I dont think you can get much closer "LOL"

Will you be doing Decatur next month?

Well it is over. Couldn't have asked for a better location, right on the lake. Clans were lined up around the athletic field so we could actually watch the games for a change. It would have been nice if everyone was notified (they had our email addresses) that the torch light ceremony was cancelled Friday night, and the even needed some advertising. Also needed some signage showing folks how to get to the park. Give this event a couple of years and it might be a good one.

I agree, it is a great location and the setup was very nice.

Last year if we wanted to see the games we would have needed binoculars "LOL"

Overall it is a 1,000 time better than the first one and I bet next year they will use our feedback to improve even more. Doing all the games in 1 day is a bit of a stretch as when I pulled out at 8 they were still giving out the awards. If the cost is not to much a 2 day event might be better?
