    Greetings from Louisiana!

Hello everyone and thank you for allowing me to join! I have no Scottish blood (that I'm aware of) but I do have family living all over the world (including Switzerland, France, Scotland, the Philippines, and South America.) My mother's father was of Irish descent, but I'm afraid that I don't know a lot else about her side of the family. I currently live and work in Central Louisiana and I've had a kilt addiction for several years. My wife bought my first kilt(s) about 5 years ago and is very supportive of the idea of me becoming a daily wearer of the kilt when I finally hang up my scrubs in a few more years. My current collection consists of mostly solids (saffron and black) and a couple of Black Watch tartans. I'm looking to add the National Law Enforcement Memorial tartan and a green shadow tartan (apparently now discontinued) to my rotation. I'm also looking forward to learning a lot and making new friends here. If you'd like to know more, please feel free to ask.

    Welcome!

Welcome to the group! Enjoy your kilts! So comfortable!

Something you might be interested in... as southern Loisiana can be quite hot and humid in the summer... I purchased a couple of inexpensive kilts in 80% acrylic 20% wool blend... because they had Breton (Bretagne) tartans... I was pleasantly surprised that they are guite a bit lighter and cooler to wear in the Florida heat and humidity of summer... the breeze can pick them up though...

    Enjoy your kilts!
