New Kid On The Block
Hello All! My name is Michael McCollum and I live in Alexandria, Virginia with my two sons. I am a member of https://clan-maccallum-malcolm.org/ and I marched in The Alexandria Scottish Walk on Saturday 12/3/2022. Sadly, I did not wear my kilt because it is much too large on me as I have lost over 70 pounds and I am keeping it off. I am also learning to play the bagpipes and I have made significant progress towards my goal of playing the pipes while wearing a properly fitting kilt. I plan to have my current kilt altered (need advice on where to do that) or to purchase a new one and I was hoping to get recommendations. My wife mysteriously produced my current kilt way back in 2003 when we were wed, and I do not know where she got it (I lost her to Ovarian Cancer and could find nothing in her receipts and documents). I have a pretty good idea of where I want to buy my first set of pipes from.
Respectfully,
Michael McCollum

Welcome to the "Great Rabble"!
So very sorry to hear of the loss of your lady. That's always really, really rough.
I'm sure you'll get advice and ideas here about the kilt, and congratulations on the pipes.

welcome
nice to have you here. Sorry about your wife. That had to be hard. I had to buy new kilts recently because over 20 years I went from 300 to 200 pounds.
