    Tartan Trews from MacGregor MacDuff

Hello all, a while ago I had a kilt and plaid made in Graham of Mentieth in Wilson's of Bannockburn colours. The tartan was woven by Andrew Elliot and the kilt was in the older style of a 5 yard box pleat by Issac Walters at I.H. Walters, Factotum. I am very pleased with the results but had some tartan left over. I was talking to Issac about it and he suggested I may have enough for a pair of trews. I decided to look into that possibility and found that MacGregor MacDuff was going to be in Toronto for a pop up shop in the summer.

Excited, I booked my appointment. The day finally arrived and off we went to the hotel where the pop up was located, only to find that on the same very hot day, there was a Blue Jays Baseball game going on, the hotel is part of the stadium with a great view of the field, so it was very busy indeed. At any rate, I went in and had the measurements done and shipped my tartan to them. Then the dreaded wait time, which in this case did not seem so bad.

I can see wearing these quite a bit over the upcoming holiday season and beyond, there is quite a difference from these and the non issued NATO pair of trews I purchased on eBay some years ago, not least of which the price, the NATO pair cost $25 if I remember correctly, but there is nothing like having a bespoke pair of trews, I am very happy with these and with the service from MacGregor MacDuff, who were very good about keeping me updated and were always happy to answer any questions I had. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for Highland wear, the staff were exemplary. On to a few photos:

Fabulous! They look great, and thanks for the info. That tartan is similar enough to Colquhoun that it gives me a pretty good idea of what mine would look like as well, especially since we're about the same size.

How about a 3 piece suit as a hole with the tartan?

I am out of tartan now as this was a special weave I think the kilt, plaid and now trews are enough for me.
