    Hi all,

If you are anywhere near Vermont, this is a great opportunity to see some wonderful Irish Music in the "session" tradition. Additionally, Norman Kennedy - a living legend of the Scottish folk music community - will also sing. As he is nearing 90 years old, this may well be his last public performance, and is not to be missed.

    Hope to see you there!

Interesting that they list one uilleann piper however I see four in the photo.

One looks like Benedict, what a lovely player he is.

One of the pipers looks a bit like Jerry O Sullivan, wearing glasses.

In any case it looks like a great event, too bad I'm 3,000 miles away.

Good catch! Yeah, the photo bears little relationship to the gig personnel, other than Benedict and one or two others. There's a backstory for it...

Benedict and his wife Hilari have been running a session in Montpelier for decades. A few years ago one of the fiddlers proposed making an album with contributions from regular members, so we've been recording tracks since before the pandemic. The concert is really almost an "album launch" event. So the image is supposed to represent the session experience rather than the exact personnel involved.

Benedict is great - wonderful musician and his chanters ... well, you probably know. Also a great teacher. I'm still in a bit of shock that I'll be on stage with him (on flute.)

    Sounds like a great event.

I do like "in the session tradition".

I'm far more fond of the spontaneity of the session than a slick prepackaged staged performance.
