I remember those Micky Mouse gas masks! I arrived in the world a few weeks ahead of schedule, courtesy of the Luftwaffe and their bombs!

By the I used to have one of those Jock Scot flies, lost it on a big bass. Sure wish I could have landed that one. But it was fun while it lasted.

I used to use a gas mask bag as a shoulder bag back when I was a student.

I had Swedish combat gear as protective clothing for caving and still have the jacket, plus a military water bottle and canvas belt. Somewhere there is a pair of Army cadet boots, size 5, which caused considerable amusement when I visited various military bases at different times, being perfect miniatures.

Military surplus is still around, but not like it used to be back in the 1970s.

There is a shop selling military and mock military equipment on the High Street in Poole and I did see a couple of kilts a few years ago, brand new but totally wrecked by moths which rather surprised me as I'd have thought that they'd have been stored in a safe way in QM stores.

    Wow, Jock, I'm impressed..!

I was told babies were brought by the stork.

Now I've got images of an H111 with its bomb-bay doors open, and a wee Jock babe tumbling earthward.

Lucky your mum was there to catch you...

I have absolutely, positively and definitely nothing further to say on the matter! Although in passing, I am told that I made quite a lot of noise, a wee time after the bomb went off!

    Your poor mother...

All bombs and bawling babes turning up too early.
