Wanting to buy an ex-hire pure wool kilt
I want to buy my first pure wool kilt. So I am thinking of buying an ex-hire kilt from a company in the UK/Scotland. Any tips? Just been out bid on an ex-army kilt on eBay, my £200+ bid was not enough! Though I will keep looking as well as explore the ex-hire option. Many thanks for your thoughts. Andrew

I have bought ex hire kilts from McCalls (http://www.mccalls.co.uk/products/me.../ex-hire-kilts) and Slanj (www.slanjkilts.com/ready-made-kilts). Happy with all my purchases from both of these.
With Slanj also they do a hire to buy service for weddings, so you can have a kilt made in a tartan of your choice and pay a hire fee for the wedding, and if you then want to buy it afterwards they deduct the hire fee an you pay the balance - those kilts that aren't purchased are resold at a marked down price.
St Kilda also have some ready made kilts on clearance (http://www.stkildastore.com/store/in...egory&path=132). I have bought other things from here - but not a kilt.
