    Kilts in Inauguration Parade

In the Inauguration parade there was a Pipe and Drum Corp that passed by the booth where the new President and other members were watching. Anyone catch who it was??

Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipe Band and The U.S. Border Patrol Pipe Band both marched in the parade, was therefore one or other. I saw Cleveland marching but started flipping channels and didn't see The Border Patrol band.

It was the Cleveland band. I was watching on a network that starts with "A", and there was a shot of them just long enough to see "Cleveland" on the bass drum. The news people then proceeded to talk over the band, and the camera focused on Mrs. Obama's coat instead of the band. I hope other networks gave the band better coverage. We'll probably see the First Lady several more times on TV, but the Cleveland Firefighters only get to be there once.
Politics aside, I'm very disappointed with the TV coverage of the parade. As mentioned above, the commentators or reporters or whatever you want to call them decided that their opinions and trivia from past parades were more important than the folks marching in the parade, probably all of whom worked very hard to be there and were very honored to be a part of this page of history. This is not a political message; it's a rant about the TV networks' handling of one of the most important events in this nation's history.

Have to wonder how many other Kilties were in the crowd.

Watched it on CSPAN... no ads, no commentators.

I only caught the second half though. Border patrol pipes and drums was the one I saw.

Yeah, forgot about VMI. I realized after the fact I should have watched C-Span, I started flipping channels because of the blabbering on all the other covering channels.
C-Span2 is rebroadcasting from earlier in the day, if they do the parade again I will try to watch it.

I missed almost all of the inauguration because today was the first day of class. I hope some videos of the bands pop up on YouTube!

I'm not sure which band I saw but they had beautiful kilts of what seemed to be a muted green and brown tartan. I was ecstatic to see kilts well represented.
