Profiles in History Auction
I was just taking a look through the new Profiles in History Auction catalogue and came across a few kilted articles. Profiles in History is an auction house that specializes in historical document auctions and Hollywood memorabilia
Listed on Pg 127 Lot 487 a Pair of Irene Sharaff costume sketches from the movie Brigadoon, estimated value $300-500.
Page 209 Lots 792-794 Movie used War Hammer from the movie Braveheart value $4000-$6000
Braveheart art work $2000-$3000
Screen used William Wallace kilt (costume tags still on kilt) $8,000-$10,000
(now that is a very expensive kilt!)
The rest of the non kilted auctions are neat. They have thousands of autographs, Christopher Reeves Superman costume, John Steed's hat from the Avengers, many Star Trek and Star Wars props, and countless other cool Hollywood stuff.
(not to mention Indy's Last Crusade whip..anyone care to lend me $50,000?)

Maybe I should have specified it was Patrick Macnee's "John Steed" ..which makes it really cool!

I know that those prices are only just the auction house's "estimates," but they seem a little high for what the items are. They look to me more like the house's wishful thinking.

NPR News reported a couple of weeks ago that 20th Century Props, Hollywood's biggest prop house, went out of business and liquidated some 91,000 items.
