Has anybody visited Knoydart, Invenisshire, would like to know all about it....

For the past decade I have been researching my MacDonald roots. I have got solid links back to around 1788 with Samuel MacDonald who married Johanna Huet in Knoydart, (Knoidarte), Scotland. Sure I have looked Knoydart up on the internet, know it remains isolated, but I would like to know more about it, and where do they keep public records for Knoydart, I understand a Catholic Church burned down destroying many records, can anybody assist me with learning more about Knoydart, and possibily my ancestors>

Yes, member of the Mid-Atlantic Donald Clan, and I have more information then they do. I see so many people on this site that live in Scotland, I hope to communicate with somebody who visited or even lives close by, well as close as you can get. I work on a wildlife cruise ship touring the Hebrides, Skye, west coast, St Kilda etc. We often visit Knoydart, usually putting the guests ashore at Inverie for half a day and then spending the night either there or down Loch Nevis at Tarbet. It's a very pretty place with a lovely beach to the West of Inverie.
