    Sleepy Man Banjo Boys (bluegrass)

OK, bit of a stretch but we know that bluegrass grew (in part) from Scots/Irish/etc. roots. Just wanted to share this "wow" performance by some kids who, as a friend observed, "probably don't spend much time playing video games!"

That is sensational. I've seen these kids before, but this is a particularly good video of their performance. It must be nice to have those fast, limber fingers. Thanks for the pointer.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

They talk about the 'high lonesome sound' of the banjo. I find both banjo and the pipes to have a haunting, deep sound and I am so happy I play them both. Nice stuff boys! Thanks for posting that.

Thanks for posting this. I was pretty amazed to see this the night they were on the show. That they WERE on the
show, as much as how good they are. It has always amazed me to hear or to get to play with kids like this; to be this good after 20 years of playing would be a real blessing, but at their age it's pretty rare even for bluegrass. And to have
three in one family be this good.........

As for the roots of the music, I'd say directly descended from the music brought from the isles, with other influences
    having some input.
