10th Annual Burns Supper - Conyers, GA

TheScot (Jim) has found himself with pressing matters on his hands this year, and has asked for our help arranging the 9th Annual Burns Supper. I've started this thread to get the Georgia Rabble's attention and also let everyone know where we are. So far it seems to be me and Tripleblessed (Michael) doing most of the arranging, though I think Michael may be getting help from Wil.

You might wonder why I'm calling it the 10th Burns Supper when Jim referred to it as the 9th. When I was reading Jim's thread from last year (8th Annual Burns Supper) he mentions that he made a mistake and that 2015 was actually the 9th. This year being the 10th, I hope we have a good turnout and a rowdy (but well mannered) good time.

Following posts detail where, when and how much, the itinerary, who has volunteered and what we still need folks to do, and general questions.

Unless another, better suited, lassie takes the bit- I'll do my best for the Reply. . . And I'll try not to go too hard on the fellas.

Thanks, and please - give us a hard time. I'm confident I can speak for the rest of the bros in saying that we well deserve it. If you don't mind - send me PM or reply with your proper name so I can list it on the program.

I was looking forward to this, but found out last night that I will not be free on the 23rd. How frustrating. I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Thanks, everyone! We've got all of our speakers lined up. If you'd like to read a poem or sing a song, let us know. It's okay to spontaneously volunteer when we get to that point in the program, too.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

The piper is a friend of Jim's; Jim will handle. Wil was waiting for a date before contacting Tavern. Jim has friends outside of the forum who will hopefully join us again this year, hopefully again about twenty or thirty. Lamar's GA Tech buddy Charlie
will do "My Love is Like A Red, Red, Rose", I'll do "Banks and Braes o' Bonnie Doon".

Anyone else? Thanks to Catharps, proves mariners really are brave folk. @Deil the Yin, will you make it?

Ah, the Supper. Looks like the new troops have done a great job in planning the Supper.

If you should require directions to the Celtic Tavern, go here: http://celtictavernconyers.com/

BTW: I plan to have plenty of books of Burns poetry if someone should decide they want to share a poem.

See you guys in a week-and-a-half.

    Slainte.
