I'm not looking at a map right now, so I'm not sure of the distance involved, but I believe that Clann of the Wolf has a fairly active group (sept) in Texas. We portray Clan Cameron in reenactments of the 1745 uprising, run Highland Games at certain Black Powder Rendezvous, and some groups set up at various Highland Games. You can take a look at www.clannofthewolf.org
All skill and effort is to no avail when an angel pees down your drones.

I always fancied being a "Louisiana Tiger Zouave, Col. Wheat commanding" My favourite all-time CSA regiment !
Geaux Tigers !!!
I always wondered who would have won if the Tigers (recruited from New Orleans docks and wharves) had met Wilson's Zouaves (6th New York, recruited from the Bowery and Hell's Kitchen - and no doubt Five Points) in a scrap ! I reckon the Tigers would sort them out !

I'm not certain about Jacobite groups, but there are several first class F&IW, RevWar, and Napoleonic reenactment groups in your general neck of the woods. Most have sites on FACEBOOK, so you might want to check there.

Have you ever been to Mansfield, LA to see the 1864 battle-site ?
Count (Polecat) Polignac and Dick Taylor - what a combination ! They screwed up Nathaniel Banks' Red River invasion great style ! (Not forgetting Mouton and Green's part in the Southern victory !)
My other favourite general was John (Prince John) Magruder and that famous ruse of his on the Peninsula to bolster up his numbers and fool the Union forces.
PS also about Louisiana, anyone here like me agree that "Spoons"/"Beast" Butler was a complete charlatan ?

Shreveport? That was where The Reddshanks formed. Were you of them? I never lived in Louisiana, but counted myself among that gang on limited occasions when they trekked to Texas. The group is defunct, now, but you may be able to dig up a few of the Jacobite-pretenders. I'd bet the Highland games in Monroe would love to have a living-history group.
