I have been studying some new Celtic designs and decided to incorporate them into a leather covered Day Planner I was making for my wife. This is a kit from Tandy Leather that includes the inner notebook pages, calendar, and slots for business or credit cards.
On the front of the Planner I carved oak leaves in one corner and then tried some basketweave designs as a transition to her initials in the upper right. On the back I carved a dragon design in one corner and some interlocked circles in the other.





In retrospect, it is probably too much carving for such a small piece. I could have made it simpler. But I wanted to try out the designs.
The lacing required the most work of all. It was about 11 yards of lace overall. The size of the item is about 6" x 9 1/2 ".

I made this for my wife, so it is not for sale, but if anyone would be interested in having such a day planner, I would price it at about $70, including shipping. The kit is around $35 and the lacing is at least another $20. I would be happy to customize the design on the cover. Please PM me if you have any interest.
