New Sporran for Myself
I just completed a new sporran for myself.
I want to thank Tobus for posting his hunting style template. It worked out great.
Here are the pics and then the details below.

I got the fur in Europe several years ago. Don't know exactly what it is, but suspect it is from the European Hare, which is common there and is larger than a normal rabbit. I saw the pelt in a bin at a leather shop in Munich and thought it was perfect for a sporran someday. It cost 30 euros, or about $45 USD.
The overall dimensions are 12 inches high, 8 1/2 inches wide (fur to fur, the leather backing is about an inch smaller), and 3 1/2 inches deep from front to back. As you can see from the pic like a whale's mouth, it holds a wallet sideways!
The kilt it is on is called Old Lang Syne Gray.
This was the first time for me for a hair sporran, and there were many challenges. For one thing, you need a vacuum cleaner running next to you while cutting out the pelt! It shed more hair than my cat! Of course there are many things I would do differently if I ever do another hair sporran, but I'm very happy with this result. It looks simple, but elegant, IMHO.
Can't wait for an occasion to wear it.
Regards,
Tom

I love that tartan and your sporran is a beautiful match for it. Nicely done!

Nicely done. You're right about the hair. I had a sneezing fit while cutting a fox pelt for a sporran a few months ago and the stuff flew everywhere—still finding an occasional strand. However, the cat thought it was great fun chasing them down.
