Charity Casual Friday
It's 'Dress Down Day' at work today and the charity collection will be for testicular / prostate and breast cancer, the idea being to wear either blue or pink in support of the charities. I've been dared or maybe challenged to wear my Blue (Ramsey) Kilt for the day. I think it's a great idea, but am a bit nervous of doing so as it will be the first time of going out in public 'properly' (not just to the local park or shops).
Should I do it or just chicken out ?

Hopefully you've done it . If not, then do it on the next "dress down day" when nobody will be expecting it just to give them a surprise and prove to yourself that you're not a chicken. You're in London so you'll have more Scots seeing you in a kilt than if you had worn it in a good sized town north of the border. You'll be glad you did it I reckon.

Do it, Sir! Wear it like you're in the correct dress, and everybody else is wearing incorrect dress.

Any oppoertunity to wear your kilt should be firmly grasped with both hands.

By all means, wear it and wear it well.

JUST DO IT! As long as you wear the kilt as proper clothes, and not to imitate a Laird, to play dress-up, or make a statement, in other words, for theatrical value, rather to sincerely just be yourself, there's no reason not to wear a kilt anywhere.
Zen Master Seung Sahn, who founded the Kwan Um school of zen in the west, claimed Nike stole his catch phrase, just do it. He taught to just do it. That is make a commitment to act, focus on that and only that, don't waver. When wearing the kilt, just do it and don't be distracted by side issues. Boldy go where you have never gone before. Just be in the kilt.
It's all cool, man.

Well, I did it !
I did wear my kilt to work - sorry the pics aren't that good. On the whole it was positively received, a couple of raised eyebrows and several 'Are you a true Scotsman?' To which I replied 'how warm are your hands ?'
The best bit though was getting a wolf whistle from a van driver - made my day.
